Get Vaccinated! It is still infecting and killing unvaccinated people and rising!
Editorial:
Omicron Begins to Show up in Europe and Canada
Now Covid variant B.1.1.529
is here (Now named Omicron and travel to and from Southern Africa is banned. But it is already travelling. Could we now take vaccinating Africa more seriously or is it already too late? This variant might get around the Delta vaccine and it will take months to develop a new vaccine. UK daily death figures are still bad. Same in the USA (1,100 a day) and bound to rise following Thanksgiving mixing. Start wearing that mask again. It just might save your life.
Rivers in the Sky above BC
Nothing informs us about Climate Change more than what is happening in Hope, or Mission or Abbotsford in B.C. Canada right now. Roads, bridges, rail washed away, whole communities have lost their homes and some people have drowned in mud slides. A few months ago the same places were under a Heat Dome at nearly 50c. Lytton burned.
It will take billions to repair and then it could happen all over again. Places that seemed so stable forever are in shock. This same climate shock is playing out in India and now in South Africa and Australia too. Hawksmoor wrote about flooding in the Hope BC region in his book The Repossession of Genie Magee. The last major flood in this area was 1948. We shall have to get used to it happening more often.
Going GREEN is going to cost a great deal and we're all going to end up broke, half frozen and stranded in our electric cars on some motorway someplace. But will everyone VOTE for this come the next election, especially if they know Russia, India and China and a whole lot more aren't going to cut back coal production or heating/cooling their homes. Hair shirts are on sale now in M&S.
COP 26 is over. 'Let me be chaste, O Lord, but not just yet,' came to mind as the deadline passed and the fudging continued. Phase Down Coal is meaningless when the real answer is Phase Out Coal. We're committed to not burning down the Amazon by 2030 but has anyone told the Brazillian President? My guess there won't be a tree or wild animal left by 2030 in Brazil. It's worth noting that whatever they signed up to in Glasgow - none of it is binding and the main polluters didn't turn up. India said they'd only give up coal in 2070. In 2070 India will be underwater. It's disappointing, as Greta Thunberg quite rightly says 'Blah, Blah, Blah'.
Tensions are rising on the Polish/Lithuania borders with Belarus as the dictatorship in Minsk forces illegal immigrants (that they invited) towards the EU borders. This is a distraction of course as Putin has massed 100,000 troops ready to invade Ukraine. It only took one shot to start WW1... You might just want to start praying.
